Wolverhampton linked with a move for Lazio centre-back Bastos
Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing strong interest in Bastos.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are linked with a move for Lazio centre-back Bastos.
Bastos has played 42 times for Lazio since signing from Rostov, scoring five goals in that time.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Angola.
Bastos has also scored two goals in 38 games for his country.
The Lazio manager does not see him in his plans and would be open to letting him leave.
Nuno is looking to shore up his defensive options and Lazio’s Bastos happens to be a target.
According to Football Italia (via Il Messaggero), “Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing up Lazio defender Bastos and the asking price is €15m. The 27-year-old Angola international has been at the club since 2016, when he completed a €5m transfer from Rostov in Russia. He is under contract until June 2020, with the option to add another year, but has struggled for playing time. According to Il Messaggero newspaper, Bastos is a transfer target for Premier League side Wolves. Lazio have reportedly set the price-tag at €15m for the tall centre-back, who scored five goals in 28 competitive appearances last season.”
Bastos would reportedly be interested in a move this summer, but if Wolverhampton do want him, they will have to beat those other interested clubs to his signature.
