West Ham set to sign Liverpool star Divock Origi

There has been numerous forwards linked with West Ham in past few months.

The latest reports in England suggest that West Ham are set to sign Liverpool forward Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Belgium international was signed by Liverpool in July 2014 from Lille for a fee of 12.63 million euros. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2022 with the club.

The forward has 5 goals and 2 assists in 10 games this season. He’s incredibly experienced for a 26-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.

Divock Origi has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 3 goals in 31 senior appearances for the Belgium national team.

The 26-year-old will be allowed to leave in the winter transfer window.

The Hammers have earmarked Liverpool forward as their target, with David Moyes being a ‘huge admirer’ of the player.

Moyes is a firm fan of Liverpool forward and West Ham could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

Origi’s finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Moyes’ side. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.

According to the report,” West Ham are ready to meet the asking price of Liverpool for Divock Origi. The Daily Express says West Ham are ready to pay up for Origi. The Belgian, who has already secured cult hero status at Anfield, was placed up for sale this summer but Jurgen Klopp struggled to find a buyer for the forward for the second year running. According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, West Ham are now ready to make a move in January as they look to sign some competition for Michail Antonio. Origi is now approaching the final six months of his contract meaning Liverpool will have to stand up and be counted if they want to keep him.”

The Reds are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the forward, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

If West Ham can agree on a fee with Liverpool, the deal should be easy to complete.

Good signing for West Ham?

The Hammers could benefit by signing Origi as the forward is one of the areas of concern for David Moyes.

Divock Origi will be an ideal choice for Moyes as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers.

It will be interesting to see what happens when West Ham come calling for Origi this winter.
