West Ham set to sign Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta

According to the football transfer rumours in British Media, West Ham are set to sign Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta.

Pablo Zabaleta has joined Manchester City from Espanyol for a fee in the region of 8.7 million euros in August 2008. The 32-year-old has a valid contract with Manchester City until June 2017.

Since his arrival from Espanyol, Pablo Zabaleta has scored 11 goals and provided 28 assists in 331 games for Manchester City, including two goals and provided two assists in all competitions this season.

The 32-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Argentina.

Pablo Zabaleta has represented Argentina at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 34 caps and scoring five goals, before making his senior international debut in August 2005. As a member of Argentina national football team, Pablo Zabaleta has won 58 caps.

Slaven Bilic will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Manchester City right-back is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

The Argentina international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic would prefer playing him as a right-back.

Pablo Zabaleta has been in good form this season in the Premier League, but his contract with Manchester City expires in just a few weeks. This means that he’ll be available to join another team on a free transfer ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Euro Football Rumours understood that West Ham are offering a two-year contract to the Argentina international, worth in the region of 120,000 euros-a-week.

Premier League club Crystal Palace are apparently trailing West Ham in the pursuit of Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta.
