West Ham linked with a move for Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen

Robin Olsen is getting closer to West Ham day by day as transfer talk continues to intensify.

It’s claimed by British media that West Ham are set to sign Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

The 31-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Italian giants spent 9 million euros to sign the Sweden international from Copenhagen in the summer of 2018. The 31-year-old has two years left on his current contract which expires in 2023.

The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Sweden. As a member of Sweden national football team, Olsen won 48 caps.

Robin Olsen is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Roma this summer and the list of suitors in the Sweden international continues to grow.

The Hammers are looking to sign a goalkeeper and have identified the 31-year-old as potential transfer target.

David Moyes is a firm fan of Roma goalkeeper and West Ham could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

West Ham are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.

According to the report, “Robin Olsen’s move from Roma to Lille has reportedly fallen through. Roma boss Jose Mourinho is willing to sell Olsen after acquiring Rui Patricio from Wolves as his new number one goalkeeper. Ligue 1 champions Lille were eyeing Olsen to replace Mike Maignan, who joined AC Milan earlier this summer. But according to Il Romanista, Lille were unable to get a deal off the ground. The news now opens the door for West Ham United to revisit their interest in the Sweden international. Olsen played 11 times in all competitions on loan at Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton last seasons, including seven games in the Premier League.”

The Hammers will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Olsen to join the club.

AS Roma are preparing to sell their goalkeeper should they receive right offer for him.

Good signing for West Ham?

If Robin Olsen is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for West Ham.

A move away from Roma will not be only the best move for Olsen, but also for the club.

All in all, Olsen will be an ideal choice for Moyes as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his goalkeepers.

The 31-year-old could be a good fit for David Moyes’ West Ham.

It will be interesting to see where the player ends up this summer.
