West Ham keen on Attila Szalai

According to multiple reports emanating from England, West Ham are keen on Attila Szalai.

The Hungary international only joined Fenerbahce from Apollon Limassol in 2021 for 2 million euros and his contract runs to June 2025.

The centre-back has provided two assists in 29 matches this term on all fronts. He is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Hungary. Szalai has earned 23 senior caps for the Hungary national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.

According to the report, “West Ham United have jumped into the battle for Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai. The Hungary international is attracting interest from across Europe after being linked with Chelsea before Christmas. Newcastle and West Ham are keen, reports Sky Sports, with AC Milan also interested. For their part, while reluctant to lose Szalai, Fenerbace would be prepared to cash in for €20m. Szalai is open to leaving Fener this month, though won’t force anything from his end.”

The Turkish giants would be wise to keep the Hungary international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
