West Ham interested in Manchester City central midfielder Yaya Toure

According to the football transfer rumours in British Media, West Ham are interested in Manchester City central midfielder Yaya Toure.

Yaya Toure has joined Manchester City from Barcelona for a fee in the region of 30 million euros in July 2010. The 33-year-old has a valid contract with Manchester City until June 2017.

Since his arrival from Barcelona, Yaya Toure has scored 78 goals and provided 48 assists in 296 games for Manchester City, including six goals and provided three assists in 28 games in all competitions this season.

The 33-year-old is considered to be one of the best central midfielders in Ivory Coast.

Yaya Toure has represented Ivory Coast at Under-20 level, winning one cap and scoring one goal. As a member of Ivory Coast national football team, Toure has won 97 caps and has scored 19 goals.

There has been no movement on Yaya Toure agreeing a contract extension at Manchester City, and he will be on the radar of many English clubs during the summer.

The 33-year old is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Slaven Bilic wants to target in the summer transfer window.

The Ivory Coast international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last seven seasons, and it is understood that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic would prefer playing him as a defensive midfielder.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Newcastle and Brighton are apparently trailing West Ham in the pursuit of Manchester City central midfielder.
