West Ham are showing strong interest in Nahitan Nandez.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, West Ham are in advanced talks over 40 million euros deal for Nahitan Nandez.
The Uruguay international joined Cagliari from Boca Juniors in August 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.
Nandez has scored one goal and assisted four more across all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Uruguay. As a member of Uruguay national football team, Nandez won 31 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including West Ham.
David Moyes is looking to shore up his midfield options and Cagliari’s Nandez happens to be a target.
West Ham United are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Nahitan Nandez would provide a good variety to West Ham’s midfield.
According to the report, “West Ham United have made a €40m offer for Uruguay international Nahitan Nandez, claim Italian reports, and Cagliari are considering it. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the proposal arrived today and would be a loan with obligation to buy for a grand total of €40m, including performance-related bonuses. Cagliari are giving it some thought, as that would at least double the €18m they paid Boca Juniors for the midfielder in August. They have also been involved in some contractual discussions with his agents over image rights, so a sale would presumably resolve that issue. It’s suggested that if Cagliari do turn down the offer, they will try to secure a new contract with a release clause worth €40m valid from June.”

Cagliari would be wise to keep the Uruguay international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.
Signing the 24-year-old would be a masterstroke from David Moyes.
It will be interesting to see whether West Ham will make their move during the winter transfer window.
