WBA submit bid for Sporting Lisbon star Adrien Silva
midfielder Adrien Silva has emerged as a surprise target for West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.
West Bromwich Albion have submitted bid for Sporting Lisbon star Adrien Silva, according to the football transfer rumours in Portuguese Media (A Bola).
The Portugal international has joined Sporting Lisbon from ARC Paçô in 2002. The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Sporting Lisbon until June 2020.
Silva has played 232 times for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 38 goals and creating 19 assists in that time.
Adrien Silva has represented Portugal at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 46 caps and scoring four goals, before making his senior international debut in November 2014. As a member of Portugal national football team, Silva has won 20 caps and has scored one goal.
Adding a midfielder remains West Bromwich Albion’s top priority this summer and Tony Pulis will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
Tony Pulis is a long term admirer of Adrien Silva and believes he can get the most out of the Portugal international.
West Bromwich Albion are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.
According to the report in Portuguese Media, West Bromwich Albion have submitted 26 million euros bid for Portugal international. They offered around 2.5 million euros per season to Adrien, but according to the same report he wants in the region of 3 million euros per season.
