Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu is interesting Everton manager Ronald Koeman

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media, Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu is interesting Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

Cedric Bakambu has joined Villarreal CF from Bursaspor for a fee in the region of 7.5 million euros in 2015. The 25 year-old has a valid contract with Villarreal CF until June 2020.

Since his arrival from Bursaspor, Cedric Bakambu has scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 74 games for Villarreal CF, including only four goals and provided one assist in 24 games in all competitions this season.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in La Liga.

Cedric Bakambu has represented France at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 38 caps and scoring eight goals, before making his senior international debut for Democratic Republic of the Congo in May 2016. As a member of Democratic Republic of the Congo national football team, Bakambu has won 12 caps and scored three goals.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo international is a player who has impressed many European Clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that Everton manager Ronald Koeman would prefer playing him as a forward. Cedric Bakambu could be perfect replacement if Everton star Romelu Lukaku leaves.

How strong that interest is and whether Everton will make a summer move for Villarreal forward remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
