Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio in advanced negotiations with Milan
AC Milan are looking set to land Mateo Musacchio after Spanish Media revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Villarreal CF ahead of a potential move this summer.
Mateo Musacchio has joined Villarreal CF from River Plate in 2009. The 26 year-old has a valid contract with Villarreal CF until June 2018.
Since his arrival from River Plate, Mateo Musacchio has scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 239 games for Villarreal CF, including 1,745 minutes in 20 games in all competition this season.
Mateo Musacchio has also represented Argentina at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 18 caps across all age groups and scoring one goal. Since June 2011, Musacchio is a member of Argentina national football team, winning only three caps.
The 26 year-old has been in fine form for Villarreal this season.
The Argentina international has been a long term target of Vincenzo Montella as the manager looks to bolster his defendive options for the next season.
Euro Football Rumours were informed that AC Milan are offering in the region of 25 million euros for Mateo Musacchio’s services.
