Valencia interested in Raul de Tomas
Valencia appear to have a genuine interest in signing Raul de Tomas this summer.
The reports in Spain suggested that Valencia are interested in Raul de Tomas.
The Spain international joined Real Madrid in 2004. His contract expires in the summer of 2019. In September 2017, De Tomas was sent to Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan.
Raul de Tomas made 23 appearances across all competitions for Rayo Vallecano, scoring 18 goals and supplying two assists in return.
The 23-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Spain.
The Spain international has been in outstanding form this season.
Raul de Tomas has represented Spain at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level, scoring six goals.
The forward’s contract at Real Madrid is about to expire in 15 months and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Valencia showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.
Marcelino wants to sign a new forward and De Tomas is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players in Spain.
According to Football Espana (via Marca), “The striker – who has Dominican origin – sees his contract with the European Champions expire in June 2019 and the club are prepared to make a permanent sale this summer, say Marca. De Tomas has spent the previous two seasons on loan at second-tier sides Cordoba and Real Valladolid. Valencia want to sign the striker this summer to add competition to Rodrigo Moreno, Simone Zaza and Santi Mina in their attacking ranks.”

Valencia would likely much prefer a more experienced forward who can provide an immediate impact on the pitch, but if he turns out to be a key player like many expect, it could be one of the club’s smartest transfers.
How strong that interest is and whether Valencia will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
