As per British and Italian media, Tottenham are pushing to sign Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero.
The Argentina international joined Atalanta from Juventus in September 2020.
He is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Argentina. Cristian Romero has represented Argentina at Under-20 and Under-23 level, winning 8 caps, before making his senior international debut in June 2021. As a member of Argentina national football team, Romero won 5 caps and he scored one goal.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Tottenham.
Romero appears to be among Nuno Espírito Santo’s top choices to reinforce his centre-back options.
This approach of signing exciting talent from different parts of the globe can reap rewards for Tottenham in the future.
The Spurs are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

Reports last week suggested they had made an opening bid of £34m plus £8m in add-ons.”
