Tottenham join the hunt for Matthias Ginter
The Spurs are reportedly keeping a close eye on many centre-backs across the Europe.
According to multiple reports emanating from England, Tottenham have joined the hunt for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.
The 28-year-old has been with Borussia Monchengladbach since 2017, having signed for the club from Borussia Dortmund for 17 million euros. His current deal expires at the end of this season.
He has featured in 29 matches for Borussia Monchengladbach this term, netting one goal in all competitions.
The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Germany. His record for Germany is impressive. Ginter has scored 2 goals in 46 matches for Germany at senior level.
Given that his contract is expiring soon and he has not yet signed an extension, the rumors have only heated up in recent weeks.

Sky Sports says the 28-year-old is out of contract with the Bundesliga side in the summer, and is allowed to speak to clubs outside of Germany regarding his future. It is thought that Spurs are one of the clubs interested with West Ham and Aston Villa also monitoring the situation alongside the Italian giants. The German international has made 26 appearances in the Bundesliga this campaign, but looks set to leave his current club at the end of the season. Since joining Monchengladbach from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund back in the 2017 summer transfer window, the centre back has gone on to make 177 appearances across all competitions.”

A centre-back of Ginter’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Tottenham squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Conte’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his defensive department.
Tottenham fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
