Tottenham and Arsenal keen on Benfica B midfielder Joao Carvalho

Tottenham and Arsenal are keen on Benfica B midfielder Joao Carvalho, according to the football transfer rumours in Portuguese Media.

Joao Carvalho has joined Benfica B from Benfica U19 in January 2015. The 19 year-old has a valid contract with Benfica B until the June 2021. Since 30th of January 2017, Carvalho was loaned to Vitória Setúbal until the end of this season.

After his arrival from Benfica U19, Joao Carvalho has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 74 games for Benfica B in all competition.

Carvalho has also represented Portugal at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 45 caps across all age groups and scoring six goals.

The 19-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in the Liga NOS.

The Portugal international has been in fine form for Vitória Setúbal in his first four games.

Joao Carvalho has been long term target of Mauricio Pochettino and Arsène Wenger as the managers look to bolster their midfield options for the next season.

How strong that interest is and whether Tottenham and Arsenal will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
