Swansea City winger Andre Ayew in advanced negotiations with Brighton
The attacking department of the Brighton squad needs quality additions.
Brighton are set to sign Swansea City winger Andre Ayew, according to the football transfer rumours in British media.
The Ghana international was signed by Swansea in January 2018 from West Ham United for a fee of 22.8 million euros. The 30-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
The winger has banged in one goal and provided one assist in five matches for Swansea this term on all fronts.
The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Ghana.
His record for Ghana is also impressive. Ayew has scored 15 goals in 86 matches for Ghana at senior level.
The winger has just 9 months remaining on his contract and Swansea may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.
His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including Brighton.
Graham Potter is looking to shore up his attacking options and Swansea City’s Andre Ayew happens to be a target.
The 30-year-old is a long-term target of Brighton and could be a decent addition for Potter’s side.
Brighton are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Ayew will take Brighton’s attack to a different level. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Brighton are struggling to conclude a deal for Swansea City star Andre Ayew. The Albion want to add attacking firepower to the squad before the Friday domestic transfer deadline. According to The Sun, the two clubs can agree on a fee for Ayew. The issue is his £90,000-a-week wage packet at Swansea. It is beyond what Brighton are willing to pay the player. Unless the 30-year-old takes a pay cut, he will not be able to get back into the Premier League. Ayew managed 18 goals in the Championship last term.”

Brighton will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Ayew to join the club.
Good signing for Brighton?
If Andre Ayew is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Brighton.
A move away from Swansea will not be only the best move for Ayew, but also for the club.
All in all, Andre Ayew will be an ideal choice for Potter as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers.
It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the next 24 hours.
