Steven Bergwijn is reportedly nearing a move to Sevilla.
The latest reports in Spain suggest that Sevilla have made new bid for PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn.
The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Bergwijn made 124 appearances across all competitions for PSV Eindhoven, scoring 25 goals and supplying 29 assists in return.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Netherlands.
Steven Bergwijn has represented Netherlands at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 43 caps and scoring 21 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2018. As a member of Netherlands national football team, Bergwijn won 5 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Sevilla.
The report claims that Monchi has extensively scouted Steven Bergwijn and is considering a move for the winger.
Steven Bergwijn would provide a good variety to Sevilla’s attack.
According to Football Espana, “Sevilla have made a renewed bid of €30m in their attempts to land PSV winger Steven Bergwijn, according to reports in Spain. Estadio Deportivo say that the new offer has come in from the Andalusian club after their first approach of €25m was rejected earlier this month. Last month, Marca cited a report from De Telegraaf that the club’s sporting director Monchi will return to Eindhoven having already landed striker Luuk de Jong from the club. Bergwijn, 21, has a contract until 2022 and has a reported market value of €35m – meaning that he could potentially become the Andalusian club’s record transfer. Sevilla have already made 11 summer signings, spending over €120m on the likes of Moanes Dabour, Diego Carlos, Joan Jordan, Jules Kounde, Fernando, Luuk de Jong, Lucas Ocampos, Oliver Torres and Sergio Reguilon. The report claim Dutch international Bergwijn could act as a replacement for Pablo Sarabia, who left Los Rojiblancos to join Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth €20m this summer.”
