Sampdoria linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere
midfielder Jack Wilshere has emerged as a surprise target for Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (La Gazzetta dello Sport), Sampdoria are linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The England international has joined Arsenal in August 2001. The 25-year-old has a valid contract with Arsenal until June 2018. In August 2016, Wilshere was sent to Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
The 25-year-old has played 27 times for Bournemouth since signing from Arsenal, creating only two assists in that time.
Jack Wilshere has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 19 caps, before making his senior international debut in August 2010. As a member of England national football team, Wilshere has won 34 caps and has scored two goals.
Wilshere is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Arsenal this summer and the list of suitors in the England international continues to grow.
The midfielder has just 12 months remaining on his contract and Arsenal may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.
Adding a midfielder remains Sampdoria’s top priority this summer and Marco Giampaolo will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
