Roma interested in Inter forward Stevan Jovetic
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (TuttoMercatoWeb), Roma are interested in Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic.
The Montenegro international has joined Inter Milan from Manchester City for a fee in the region of 13.5 million euros in January 2017. The 27-year-old has a valid contract with Inter Milan until June 2019. In January 2017, Stevan Jovetic was sent to Sevilla FC on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has played 29 times for Sevilla since signing from Inter, scoring 7 goals and creating 5 assists in that time.
The Montenegro international has been in impressive form for Sevilla this season.
Stevan Jovetic has represented Montenegro at Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 8 caps and scoring 3 goals, before making his senior international debut in March 2007. As a member of Montenegro national football team, Stevan Jovetic has won 40 caps and has scored 16 goals.
There has been no movement on Stevan Jovetic agreeing a contract extension at Sevilla, and he will be on the radar of many European clubs during the summer.
Adding a forward remains Roma’s top priority this summer and Roma sporting director Monchi will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
Stevan Jovetic has been long term target of Monchi as he looks to bolster his attacking options for the next season.
Monchi wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.
Roma are desperate to make an impact in this summer transfer window.
The Montenegro international would be a versatile addition for the Roma, having featured at forward, secondary striker and
left wing role.
According to the report in Italian Media, Sevilla can’t afford to pay the 14 million euros to sign Stevan Jovetic permanently. There is no chance of Jovetic staying in Inter for the next season. Roma have made enquiries about the former Partizan player.
How strong that interest is and whether Roma will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
