Roma edge closer to signing Medipol Basaksehir star Cengiz Under

Roma are looking set to land Cengiz Under after Italian Media (Sky Sport Italia) revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Medipol Basaksehir ahead of a potential move.

The Turkey international has joined Medipol Basaksehir from Altinordu for a fee in the region of 700,000 euros in July 2016. The 19-year-old has a valid contract with Medipol Basaksehir until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Altinordu, Under has scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists in 43 games for Medipol Basaksehir in all competitions.

The Turkey international has been in outstanding form for Medipol Basaksehir last season.

Cengiz Under has represented Turkey at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 21 caps and scoring 7 goals, before making his senior international debut in November 2016. As a member of Turkey national football team, Cengiz Under has won four caps and has scored two goals.

Monchi wants to sign a new attacking midfielder this summer and Cengiz Under is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Roma sporting director Monchi wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

Roma are desperate to make an impact in this summer transfer window.

According to the report in Italian Media, Roma are offering in the region of 13 million euros for the Turkey international. They are preparing also five-year contract worth 1.5 million euros per season for Under.

Cengiz Under would reportedly be interested in a move this summer, but if Roma do want him, they will have to beat those other interested clubs to his signature.
