Real Zaragoza will look to sign Williot Swedberg

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Williot Swedberg at Celta Vigo.

The reports in Spain suggested that Real Zaragoza will look to sign Celta Vigo midfielder Williot Swedberg.

The Sweden international joined Celta from Hammarby IF for a fee in the region of 5 million euros in July 2022. His contract expires in the summer of 2027.

The midfielder has featured in 2 matches this term in all competitions.

He has long been touted as one of Sweden’s most promising young talents. Swedberg has represented Sweden at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level, winning 14 caps and scoring 2 goals.

The Sweden international midfielder has struggled to adapt to LaLiga football and he could be made available this winter.

Real Zaragoza are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 18-year-old as potential transfer target. Fran Escribá is looking to shore up his midfield options and Celta Vigo’s Swedberg happens to be a target.

Escribá is a firm fan of Celta Vigo midfielder and Real Zaragoza could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

La Liga 2 club are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The former Hammarby IF man will add a new dimension to Zaragoza’s midfield.

According to the report, “Celta Vigo midfielder Williot Swedberg is a January target for Real Zaragoza. The young Swede moved to Celta over the summer from Hammarby and has made his first team debut. However, Zaragoza can offer Swedberg regular football in the Segunda Division, says FotbollDirekt.se. Swedberg has a contract with Celta to 2027. The 18 year-old has so far managed just the one appearance in LaLiga for Celta so far.”

Real Zaragoza will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Swedberg to join the club.

Celta Vigo will be ready to part ways with the midfielder should the right offer arrives.

If Williot Swedberg is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Zaragoza.

Swedberg has all the skillset required to be a success story at Zaragoza. Therefore, it makes sense for Escribá to step up his attempts to bring the Sweden midfielder to La Liga 2 side.
