Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier has emerged as a surprise target for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid are targeting Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier, according to the football transfer rumours in the Media (SBNation).

The Belgium international was signed by Paris Saint-Germain in July 2016 from Club Brugge for a fee of 6 million euros. The 25-year-old has a valid contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2020.

Since his arrival from Club Brugge, Thomas Meunier has scored two goals and provided 7 assists in 37 games for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions last season.

Thomas Meunier has represented Belgium at Under-15 and Under-21 level, winning 7 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in November 2013. As a member of Belgium national football team, Thomas Meunier has won 15 caps and has scored one goal.

Zinedine Zidane is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Thomas Meunier could very well be a man under consideration.

The Belgium international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Zinedine Zidane wants to target in the summer transfer window.

How strong that interest is and whether Real Madrid will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
