Tottenham are reportedly prepared to entertain offers for Richarlison, less than twelve months after his record-breaking £60 million transfer from Everton to the club.
The 26-year-old Brazilian made the move to N17 last summer, with Antonio Conte successfully persuading Daniel Levy to part ways with a substantial sum. If certain additional payments are met, the forward will become Tottenham’s most expensive signing of all time. However, Richarlison has struggled to secure a regular position in the team, managing to score only three goals.
Remarkably, two of those goals were achieved in a single Champions League match against Marseille. His sole goal in the Premier League occurred during a recent 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. Surprisingly, Richarlison has received as many yellow cards (three) as he has scored goals for Spurs throughout his 32 appearances.
Nevertheless, opportunities as a central striker have been scarce due to Harry Kane’s exceptional form. While he can operate in other attacking positions, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski have predominantly been preferred alongside the English captain.
Consequently, the Brazil international, who has represented his country 42 times, has scored more goals for Brazil this season than for his club.
Expressing his frustrations with a profanity-laden outburst directed at his signing manager, Conte, Richarlison has endured a forgettable season.
However, it appears that a separation may now be on the horizon after only one season at Tottenham.
In fact, reports from March suggest that Real Madrid is contemplating an approach for his services during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Euro Football Rumours
Los Blancos continue to rely on the enduring presence of Karim Benzema in their attack. Although the 35-year-old seems likely to stay for another season, thoughts are turning toward the future beyond the Frenchman, who has scored an impressive 433 goals.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been linked with elite strikers such as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Nevertheless, with a potential deal for Jude Bellingham in the works, securing the services of either of those exceptional talents appears unlikely.
Instead, AS reports that Real Madrid is considering Richarlison as a more affordable alternative. They believe that they could tempt him away from Spurs for a reduced transfer fee.
