As the summer transfer window comes closer and closer Real Madrid are being linked with more and more potential transfers.
The reports in Spain suggested that Real Madrid are keen on Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
Manchester City spent 27 million euros to sign the Germany international from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016. He has one year left on his current contract which expires in 2023.
The midfielder banged in 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 42 matches this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third.
The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Germany. Gundogan has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 14 goals in 56 senior appearances for the Germany national team.
The Germany international is believed to be available for transfer, with Carlo Ancelotti now keen to bring him to Real Madrid.
Ancelotti wants to sign a new midfielder and Gundogan is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Manchester City midfielder and Real could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The Spanish giants are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
The former Borussia Dortmund man will offer the Real boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “The German midfielder has been told that he can find a new club and that City won’t renew his contract, which expires in the summer of 2023. Gundogan is still highly valued by Guardiola but is coming to a stage of his career where he wants to be guaranteed starter, a status that’s highly difficult to secure at City. Gundogan was spotted flying to the Spanish capital this week, sparking rumours that he could potentially join long-term admirers Real Madrid. They’re thought to want a midfielder.”

Signing the 31-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Ancelotti.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Madrid.
If Carlo Ancelotti sees him as the right man for his side, Real should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
