The 19-year-old is often quick to scan the danger and is not shy of getting stuck in with some well-timed tackles to help secure possession back for his side.

According to the report, “Real Madrid are watching Benfica defender Antonio Silva. Record says Real are scouting the youngster ahead of the summer market. With Nacho Fernandez and Jesus Vallejo potentially leaving at season’s end, Silva has emerged as a target for Real. Silva’s contract runs to 2027 and carries a €100m buyout clause. PSG, Liverpool and Napoli are also keeping tabs on the youngster.”

Euro Football Rumours

Antonio Silva is a top-class talent and Benfica want to keep him at the club. They feel under no pressure to sell and will “demand a significant fee” before letting him go.

Real will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Benfica to the negotiating table. The Spanish giants have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

Good signing for Real Madrid?

If Real and Carlo Ancelotti are seriously considering a centre-back, Silva could also prove to be a smart option.

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.

All in all, Antonio Silva will be an ideal choice for Carlo Ancelotti as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his defenders.

If Ancelotti sees him as the right man for his side, Real should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
