The midfielder’s contract at Arsenal is about to expire and a number of clubs are said to be monitoring his situation, with Real Betis showing the most concrete interest in an attempt to lure the player to their team.

Quique Setién is looking to shore up his midfield options and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere happens to be a target. He is a long term admirer of Jack Wilshere and believes he can get the most out of the England international.

Real Betis will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings this winter who can improve the first-team.

According to the report in British media, Wilshere is in the final year of his 105,000 euros-per-week agreement but has yet to open talks over fresh terms with Arsenal, but Real Betis have made contact with his representatives about free transfer move next summer. The England international is open to moving to La Liga on a free transfer.

How strong that interest is and whether Real Betis will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
