Real Betis edge closer to signing Montpellier star Ryad Boudebouz

Real Betis are edge closer to signing Montpellier star Ryad Boudebouz, according to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media (Football Espana).

The Algeria international was signed by Montpellier in July 2015 from Bastia for a fee of 1.7 million euros. The 27-year-old has a valid contract with Montpellier until June 2019.

Ryad Boudebouz has played 73 times for Montpellier since signing from Bastia, scoring 13 goals and creating 22 assists in that time.

The Algeria international has been in outstanding form for Montpellier last season.

As a member of Algeria national football team, Ryad Boudebouz has won 25 caps and has scored 2 goals.

Adding a playmaker remains Real Betis’s top priority this summer and Quique Setién will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.

The Algeria international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Quique Setién wants to target in the summer transfer window.



Real Betis are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

The Algeria international would be a versatile addition for the Real Betis, having featured at playmaker, left wing and in a right wing role.

According to the report in Spanish Media, Real Betis are closing in on the signing of Montpellier winger Ryad Boudebouz for in the region of 7.5 million euros. Potential drawback to the deal could be West Ham, if the Hammers offer around 13 million euros for the Algeria international.

How strong that interest is and whether Real Betis will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
