Nice are showing strong interest in Kepa Arrizabalaga.
According to the football transfer rumours in British and French media, Nice are eyeing loan move for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Spain international joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for a fee in the region of 80 million euros in August 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Spain. As a member of Spain national football team, Arrizabalaga won 11 caps.
Kepa Arrizabalaga is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Chelsea this summer and the list of suitors in the Spain international continues to grow.
Nice have earmarked Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as their target, with their sporting director being a ‘huge admirer’ of the goalkeeper. The Spain international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of goalkeeper he wants to target in the summer transfer window.
According to the report, “Nice are interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Foot Mercato says Nice are eyeing Kepa for a loan deal next season. Given Kepa’s ambition to be part of Spain coach Luis Enrique’s plans for the World Cup in Qatar this winter, he will need to secure more regular game-time at the beginning of next season. As such, Nice have emerged as a realistic option. Nice finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season, qualifying for the Europa Conference League, and reached the final of the Coupe de France, where they lost 1-0 to Nantes.”
Euro Football Rumours
Nice will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Arrizabalaga to join the club. It is claimed that Chelsea are open to letting Kepa go.
A move away from Chelsea will not be only the best move for Arrizabalaga, but also for the club.
Good signing for Nice?
If Nice are seriously considering a goalkeeper, Arrizabalaga could also prove to be a smart option.
A goalkeeper of Arrizabalaga’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Nice squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of the starting XI but also add some stability and variety to their defensive department.
Nice fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
If Nice see him as the right man for their side, they should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
