Newcastle United target Jean Clair-Todibo

Newcastle United has reportedly shown interest in Jean Clair-Todibo, the defender from OGC Nice. The Toon boss, Eddie Howe, is keen on strengthening the squad and raising its overall quality ahead of their anticipated Champions League campaign next season.

Todibo’s journey led him to Nice after his loan contract with Barcelona and Benfica was mutually terminated on February 1, 2021. He joined Nice on loan with an option to buy, and on June 27, the move was made permanent as the club paid €8.5 million, with an additional €7 million in variables, to Barcelona. Barcelona also retained rights to a percentage of any future sale of Todibo.

During his time at Nice, Jean Clair-Todibo made a total of 84 appearances, showcasing his defensive abilities and contributing two goals to the team’s cause.
