Newcastle United need to strengthen their midfield this summer.

The reports in England suggested that Newcastle United are linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The France international joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.

The midfielder has one assist in 21 Serie A games this season.

He is considered to be one of the best midfielders in France. Rabiot has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 24 senior appearances for the France national team.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Newcastle.

Newcastle United are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 26-year-old as potential transfer target.

The Magpies will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the summer transfer window.

There is no doubt that Rabiot will take Newcastle’s midfield to a different level. His arrival would give Newcastle United some much needed tactical flexibility.

The Frenchman, who is 26 and has 17 months remaining on his Juve contract, will be available for a modest fee in the summer. According to Calciomercato, Juve would be happy to lose Rabiot for a fee of around £12 million. While there is likely to be interest from around Europe for the defensive midfielder, Newcastle have jumped to the head of the queue. The Saudi-owned club are now cash rich, and will likely build a team capable of challenging for a European position in the summer.”

The Magpies will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Rabiot to join the club.

A midfielder of Rabiot’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Newcastle squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Howe’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his midfield department.
