Newcastle preparing move for Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Goodison Park.

Reports in the British media claim that Newcastle United are preparing move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The England international was signed by Everton in August 2016 from Sheffield United for a fee of 1.8 million euros. He is under contract until the summer of 2025.

The striker has banged in only one goal in 10 matches for Everton this term on all fronts.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in England. Calvert-Lewin has also left his mark at the international stage after netting four goals in 11 senior appearances for the England national team.

Eddie Howe wants to sign a new striker and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Howe is a firm fan of Everton striker and Newcastle United could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.


The former Sheffield United man is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Eddie Howe’s side.

The Magpies are eyeing a £35 million move for the England forward this winter or in the summer. Despite having Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, Howe wants to boost his attacking options. Per The Sun, an offer could arrive for Calvert-Lewin as early as this month. While the club are not eager to sell, their financial situation may force their hand. Newcastle could be looking to move on Chris Wood to make room for Calvert-Lewin.”

Newcastle United will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Everton to the negotiating table. The Magpies have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

A striker of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Newcastle squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Eddie Howe’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his attacking department.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Newcastle.
