Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka looks set to leave, and Newcastle are considering making a move.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Newcastle are keen on Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The 27-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Switzerland international was signed by Arsenal in July 2016 from Borussia Mönchengladbach for a fee of 45 million euros. The 27-year-old has a contract until 2023 with the club.
In total, Xhaka has scored 11 goals and supplied 17 assists from 144 Arsenal matches.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Switzerland.
The Switzerland international is believed to be available for transfer, with Steve Bruce now keen to bring him to Newcastle. Bruce is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
Granit Xhaka has the talent to play many roles in midfield.
According to Tribalfootball, “Newcastle United are ready to take Granit Xhaka off Arsenal’s hands. The Telegraph says the Switzerland midfielder is expected to leave Arsenal in the new year and Newcastle will offer him a chance to stay in the Premier League. AC Milan have been made the early favourites to sign Xhaka, with the player said to have already began his search for a house in the Italian city, but Steve Bruce is confident that the player would be open to moving to the North East. Xhaka has not played for the Gunners since he was stripped of the captaincy, a decision that was taken after he swore at fans as he was substituted off during their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.”
