Newcastle join Brighton in race for Reims striker Boulaye Dia

The Reims striker has been identified as one of the club’s potential targets as Steve Bruce looks to add more reinforcements in the attacking unit.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Newcastle United have joined Brighton in race for Reims striker Boulaye Dia.

The Senegal international joined Reims from Jura Sud in July 2018.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Newcastle.

The Magpies are looking to sign a striker and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target.

Bruce has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.

Boulaye Dia is a long-term target of Newcastle and could be a decent addition for Bruce’s side. His arrival would give Newcastle some much needed tactical flexibility.

The Magpies are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

According to the report, “Newcastle United are eyeing Reims striker Boulaye Dia. The Evening Chronicle says Dia is on a long list of targets at United but the Reims star is leaping to the attention of scouts in the Premier League after a recent hat-trick against Montpellier and a brace in his last game before the international break against Lens. The Oyonnax-born player can operate as centre-forward or on the right-wing and is part of the Senegal international set-up. Dia has made 36 starts for Reims and scored 18 goals in Ligue 1 and two goals in the Europa League in six appearances since making his debut in 2018, the player is currently valued at £7million and his contract expires in 2022. The Magpies aren’t alone in taking a look at Dia with Marseille and Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion interested in his services.”

Boulaye Dia is very highly rated in France and he could be a superb long term signing for Newcastle.

Newcastle United fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
