The 35-year-old is the best striker in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His record for BH is also impressive. Edin Dzeko has scored 60 goals in 118 matches for Bosnia and Herzegovina at senior level.

He has been in impressive form for Inter this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including mega-rich Newcastle.

The Magpies will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.

The former Roma man is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko is interesting Newcastle United ahead of the January market. The Daily Star says Newcastle are eyeing a shock move for former Manchester City star Dzeko, as Eddie Howe desperately assesses his options with relegation looming. The Magpies may have recently ended their Premier League win drought with a 1-0 victory over Burnley, but it was followed up with heavy defeats to Leicester and Liverpool, and relegation is looking like a serious possibility. It’s not looking like getting easier anytime soon either, as City and Manchester United are up next for Newcastle, who are joint last in the Premier League table. The newly richest club in the world are expected to heavily reinvest in January, and Dzeko has emerged as a major target. Dzeko only signed for the Serie A Champions this summer, but it was on a short-term two year deal, and with the riches that Newcastle hold, the Serie A side could cash in on their forward while he at the peak of his value. Inter sold Romelu Lukaku this summer for £97.5m, and Dzeko was signed on a free as a replacement, but the Italian giants could make a quick and easy turnaround in a matter of months if Newcastle splash the cash.”

A striker of Dzeko’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Newcastle squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Howe’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his attacking department.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Newcastle come calling for Dzeko this winter.
