The defensive department of the Napoli squad needs quality additions this winter.
The latest reports in Italy suggest that Napoli are set to sign Olympiacos left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Greece. As a member of Greece national football team, Tsimikas won 3 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Napoli.
Gennaro Gattuso is keen to secure at least one more signing this winter, and Kostas Tsimikas could very well be a man under consideration. Gattuso is a long term admirer of Tsimikas and believes he can get the most out of the Greece international.
The 23-year-old would provide a good variety to Napoli’s defense.
, “With Milan sending Ricardo Rodriguez to PSV Eindhoven, Napoli have turned to Olympiacos left-back Kostas Tsimikas. Rodriguez had wanted to reunite with former Rossoneri coach Gennaro Gattuso at Napoli, but Milan were only prepared to accept a permanent transfer. This means the Partenopei have to look elsewhere, so they are reportedly turning their attention back to their previous target Tsimikas. The asking price is €12-13m, while the most recent offer from Napoli was €8m plus €2m in performance-related bonuses. As for personal terms, the 23-year-old is believed to have already given the all-clear to this transfer. The Greek international would reunite with Kostas Manolas at the Stadio San Paolo.”
