It’s been a transfer window full of surprises, and Napoli could be set to carry on this trend.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Napoli have entered talks with Gremio for Everton Soares.
The 23-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2022.
Everton made 153 appearances across all competitions for Gremio, scoring 39 goals and supplying 10 assists in return. He is considered to be one of the best forwards in Brazil.
As a member of Brazil national football team, Everton won 12 caps and he scored 3 goals.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Napoli.
Carlo Ancelotti is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Everton Soares could very well be a man under consideration. He is a long term admirer of Everton and believes he can get the most out of the Brazil international.
According to Football Italia, “Napoli have started negotiations with Gremio for Brazil sensation Everton, claim Calciomercato.it, but offered €30m and the asking price is €50m. The 23-year-old is primarily a left-sided winger, but can also play on the right or as a support striker off a centre-forward. He has a €60m release clause in his contract, but it’s suggested the asking price is €50m. Napoli made an initial offer of €30m, but are prepared to negotiate up to around €40m. There is another rather large problem with Everton and that is his ownership is fractured. As is often the case in Brazil, Gremio only own 50 per cent of the player. Another 10 per cent belongs to Fortaleza, 10 per cent an investor and 30 per cent for his agent. So far in 2019, Everton has scored seven goals in 18 competitive games for Gremio.”

Napoli have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Brazil international.
The Brazil international will definitely be a good addition to the Napoli side, which will be competing in the Champions League next season.
Napoli fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club this summer.
