Milan tracking Atalanta attacking midfielder Alejandro Gomez
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media, AC Milan are tracking Atalanta attacking midfielder Alejandro Gomez.
Alejandro Gomez has joined Atalanta from Metalist for a fee in the region of 5 million euros in September 2014. The 29 year-old has a valid contract with Atalanta until June 2020.
Since his arrival from Metalist, Alejandro Gomez has scored 24 goals and provided 25 assists in 97 games for Atalanta, including 14 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions this season.
The 29 year-old is considered to be the best attacking midfielders in Serie A.
Alejandro Gomez has represented Argentina at Under-20, winning 11 caps and scoring two goals.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Vincenzo Montella will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the 29 year-old is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.
The Argentina international is a player who has impressed many Serie A clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella would prefer playing him as a midfielder.
How strong that interest is and whether AC Milan will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
