Milan edge closer to signing Lazio captain Lucas Biglia

AC Milan are looking set to land Lucas Biglia after Italian Media (Repubblica) revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Lazio ahead of a potential move this month.

The Argentina international was signed by Lazio in July 2013 from Anderlecht for a fee of 8.4 million euros. The 31-year-old has a valid contract with Lazio until June 2018.

The 31-year-old has played 133 times for Lazio since signing from Anderlecht, scoring 16 goals and creating 16 assists in that time.

Lucas Biglia is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Argentina.

The Argentina international has been in outstanding form for Lazio this season.

Lucas Biglia has represented Argentina at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning nine caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in February 2011. As a member of Argentina national football team, Lucas Biglia has won 49 caps and has scored one goal.

The Argentina international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Vincenzo Montella wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Vincenzo Montella will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Lazio midfielder is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

Euro Football Rumours understood that AC Milan are very close to a deal for Lazio midfielder for a fee in the region of 20 million euros. According to the rumours in Italian Media, Biglia has agreed a three-year contract worth in the region of 2.5 million euros per season. The Argentina international could recieve another 500,000 euros when he reaches 25 appearances.
