It’s no secret that Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig’s striker Timo Werner. But who isn’t?
The latest reports in Italy suggest that Manchester United are linked with surprise move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Germany international was signed by RB Leipzig in July 2016 from VfB Stuttgart for a fee of 14 million euros. The 23-year-old has a contract until 2023 with the club.
In 125 appearances for Leipzig, Werner has managed to score 69 goals, and create 28 goals for his teammates.
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Germany. As a member of Germany national football team, Werner won 28 caps and he scored 11 goals.
Adding a striker remains Manchester United’s top priority this winter and Ole Gunnar Solskjær will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
Solskjær is a long term admirer of Werner and believes he can get the most out of the Germany international.
The Germany international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker.
According to Calciomercato, “English Premier League outfit Manchester United are interested in a striker from German Bundesliga, as per Daily Express. The Red Devils have been in the market to sign a striker and was linked heavily with Italian Serie A giants Juventus’ veteran striker Mario Mandzukic. As per the latest report, the Manchester-based club have identified RB Leipzig’s striker Timo Werner as one of the potential target in the January transfer window. However, it is highly unlikely that the German club will let go their star player in the middle of the season.”
