Manchester United interested in Jules Kounde
The defense remains the key area for Manchester United to address in the next couple of transfer windows.
According to the football transfer rumours in British and French media, Manchester United are interested in Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.
The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The France international joined Sevilla from Bordeaux for a fee in the region of 25 million euros in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.
The centre-back has banged in two goals and provided one assist in 40 matches for Sevilla last term on all fronts.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France.
Jules Kounde has represented France at Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning five caps and scoring one goal.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Manchester United.
Adding a centre-back remains United’s top priority this winter and Ole Gunnar Solskjær will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Kounde has been a good servant for Sevilla, and is a centre-back who places himself in the right positions in defensive situations. The 28-year-old has a good defensive mind, someone who can spot attacking threats and nullify them. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.
According to the report, “Manchester United’s interest is creating problems for Sevilla in their new contract talks with Jules Kounde. Le 10 Sport says Sevilla know it will be tough to keep Kounde, but while he’s there, they’ll enjoy him. The club are trying to renew his deal and make him one of the best paid at the club. However it may not be sufficient, because United are willing to throw everything at him. Ruben Dias’s signing for Manchester City shut the door for a potential Pep Guardiola move for him. Sevilla are willing to push the boat out for the defender. Kounde said recently he is happy in Seville. However we will have to see what happens when a big club come for him with conviction. Sevilla won’t lower their 80m euro asking price.”
