Manchester United eyeing move for James Rodriguez
Manchester United are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Colombia international James Rodriguez.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Manchester United are eyeing move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez.
The Colombia international was signed by Real Madrid in July 2014 from Monaco for a fee of 75 million euros. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
This season, Rodriguez has scored only one goal and provided one assist in 9 appearances for Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best attacking midfielders in Colombia. James Rodriguez has scored 22 goals in 76 matches for Colombia at senior level.
Rodriguez is currently out of favor at Real and could leave the club this winter.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new attacking midfielder and Rodriguez is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
Rodriguez is a long-term target of Manchester United and could be a decent addition for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
There is no doubt that James Rodriguez will take Manchester United’s attack to a different level.
According to Football Espana, “Rodriguez was reported to be on the radar of Napoli in the summer, after Bayern rejected the chance to make his loan permanent, as part of a pre-agreed €42M deal. He was included in Zidane’s plans at the start of the 2019-20 season, however in recent weeks the French boss has opted to leave him out of the squad, even when fit. According to reports in Spanish newspaper El Desmarque, he could now head to Old Trafford, potentially as part of a deal that sees Paul Pogba head in the opposite direction. Zidane highlighted the former Juventus man as his main transfer target this summer, however no deal was struck with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, and he remained with the Red Devils. That transfer could potentially be reopened in January, as Real Madrid look to dip into the winter market, with Pogba still on their list of options, alongside Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.”
