Manchester United eyeing move for Eder Militao
There has been intense speculation surrounding the future of Eder Militao in the last period.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Manchester United are eyeing move for Porto defender Eder Militao.
The Brazil international joined Porto from São Paulo for a fee in the region of 4 million euros in August 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Militao has played 13 times for Porto since signing from São Paulo, creating one assist in that time.
The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Brazil.
As a member of Brazil national football team, Militao won one cap.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
José Mourinho wants to sign a new defender and Eder Militao is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The Brazil international would be a versatile addition for the Manchester United, having featured at right-back, centre-back and as a defensive midfielder role.
According to Calciomercato (via Daily Record), “Manchester United will reportedly be looking for a new defender come January as José Mourinho has his eyes on many different players. The Red Devils tried to sign a new defender back in late August but they finally didn’t do so. This now seems to be their top priority for January as José Mourinho would like to sign a young defender who can grow within his team. As the Daily Record stated, it seems like the Red Devils have their eyes on Eder Militao of Porto (born in 1998). José Mourinho also had his eyes on Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli but Militao is an easier target for January.”
