Manchester United enter talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Jeremie Frimpong
Manchester United has reportedly opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen
over the possible transfer of Jeremie Frimpong. The 22-year-old Dutch right-back has been a standout performer for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring eight goals and creating nine assists in all competitions.
Frimpong was signed by Bayer Leverkusen from Celtic for €11 million and has since made a name for himself in Germany. His performances have caught the attention of Manchester United, who are said to be in the market for an attacking right-back to take their team to another level next season.
The Red Devils’ boss, Erik ten Hag, has been linked with several Dutch players since his arrival. While he failed to lure Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, he did manage to sign Tyrell Malacia and Wout Weghorst.
Frimpong, who has six caps for the Netherlands U21 team, is eligible to play for the Netherlands, Ghana, and England, owing to his Ghanaian heritage on his mother’s side. His family moved to England when he was seven years old.

According to a report by Sky in Germany, Manchester United has already begun discussions with Bayer Leverkusen regarding Frimpong’s transfer. United is reportedly planning to sell either Diogo Dalot or Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer to make room for a new right-back.
If Frimpong joins United, he will be expected to provide competition for Wan-Bissaka or take over as the first-choice right-back. His attacking prowess could add a new dimension to United’s play, as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
