Manchester United and Chelsea interested in Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio

Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio, according to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media.

Claudio Marchisio has joined Juventus from Juventus U19 in July 2005. The 31 year-old has a valid contract with Juventus until the June 2020.

Since his arrival from Juventus U19, Claudio Marchisio has scored 37 goals and provided 40 assists in 358 games for Juventus, including two goals and three assists in 18 games in all competition this season.

Claudio Marchisio has also represented Italy at Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 19 caps across all age groups and scoring one goal. Since August 2009, Marchisio is a member of Italy national football team, winning 54 caps and scoring five goals.

The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in the Serie A.

The Italy international has been in fine form for Juve this season.

Claudio Marchisio has been long term target of José Mourinho and Antonio Conte as the managers look to bolster their midfield options for the next season.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte knows Marchisio from his time as Juventus manager and that he has already spoken with the Italy international about the transfer to London.

How strong that interest is and whether Manchester United and Chelsea will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
