Manchester City will look to sign Kang-in Lee
There has been intense speculation surrounding the future of Kang-in Lee in the last period.
The latest reports in England and Spain suggest that Manchester City will look to sign Valencia midfielder Kang-in Lee.
The South Korea international joined Valencia from School Team SK in 2011. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
The midfielder has featured in 9 matches for Valencia this term, providing 3 assists in all competitions.
The 19-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in South Korea.
The Valencia midfielder has also represented the South Korea at various youth levels before going on to secure 3 senior caps for his country thus far.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
Manchester City have earmarked Valencia midfielder Kang-in as their target, with Pep Guardiola being a ‘huge admirer’ of the player.
Guardiola has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.
City will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.
Kang-in Lee would provide a good variety to Manchester City’s midfield.
According to the report, “Valencia midfielder Kang-in Lee is interesting Manchester City. La Razon says the 19-year-old is fed up with his situation at the Mestalla and is unwilling to sign an extension on his current deal which expires in 2022. As a result, Valencia are believed to be open to offers in January and City are credited with an interest. City have already benefitted from a contract row at Valencia, signing Ferran Torres in the summer at a cut-price. Lee is highly rated by coach Javi Gracia, who will be reluctant to lose the South Korea international in January.”

Manchester City will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Valencia to the negotiating table. City have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.
Kang-in Lee is very highly rated in Spain and he could be a superb long term signing for Manchester City.
If Guardiola sees him as the right man for his side, Manchester City should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
