Manchester City will look to sign Juventus midfielder

There has been intense speculation surrounding the future of Rodrigo Bentancur in the last period.

The latest reports in England suggest that Manchester City will look to sign Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

The 22-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Juventus spent 12.5 million euros to sign the Uruguay international from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2017. The 22-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.

This season, Bentancur has scored one goal and provided seven assists in 28 appearances for Juventus.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Uruguay. As a member of Uruguay national football team, Bentancur won 29 caps.

Pep Guardiola is looking to shore up his midfield options and Juventus’s Rodrigo Bentancur happens to be a target. Bentancur is a long-term target of Manchester City and could be a decent addition for Guardiola’s side.

City had an offer for the 22 year-old turned down by Juve last summer and plan to try again 12 months on.”


Juventus appear to be adamant that no key players will be sold this summer, but Manchester City are reportedly ready to tempt them with an offer in the region of 35-40 million euros for Bentancur.

Signing the 22-year-old would be a masterstroke from Guardiola.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Manchester.
