Manchester City will look to sign Ajax left-back Nicolás Tagliafico
There has been intense speculation surrounding the future of Nicolás Tagliafico in the last period.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Manchester City will look to sign Ajax left-back Nicolás Tagliafico.
The Argentina international joined Ajax from Independiente for a fee in the region of 4 million euros in January 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
Tagliafico has played 96 times for Ajax since signing from Independiente, scoring 12 goals and creating 14 assists in that time.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Argentina. As a member of Argentina national football team, Tagliafico won 25 caps.
Nicolás Tagliafico will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Ajax this term.
Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new left-back and Tagliafico is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The Argentina international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Guardiola wants to target in the summer transfer window.
According to the report, “Manchester City are being linked with Ajax fullback Nicolás Tagliafico. Ajax are resigned to losing the Argentina international at the end of this season and are actively shopping for a new left-back as a replacement. Voetbalzone says among the suitors for Tagliafico are City. It’s suggested the Sky Blues intend to sell Angelino to RB Leipzig, where he’s currently on-loan, and replace him with Tagliafico. City boss Pep Guardiola wants greater competition at left-back for Benjamin Mendy and Oleks Zinchenko.”
