Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement with Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy

Manchester City are looking set to land Benjamin Mendy after British Media (BBC) revealed that they are in advanced negotiations with Monaco ahead of a potential move.

The France international has joined Monaco from Marseille for a fee in the region of 13 million euros in July 2016. The 23-year-old has a valid contract with Monaco until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Marseille, Benjamin Mendy has scored one goals and provided 11 assists in 39 games for Monaco in all competitions last season.

The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in France.

Benjamin Mendy has represented France at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 58 caps and scoring three goals, before making his senior international debut in March 2017. As a member of France national football team, Benjamin Mendy has won four caps.

Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new defender this summer and Benjamin Mendy is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Manchester City manager is a long term admirer of Benjamin Mendy and believes he can get the most out of the France international.

The Citizens have seen three offers for the Frence international left-back rebuffed by Monaco, who value him the same as Walker, but according to the report in British Media, Manchester City have finally agreed 60 million euros deal for Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy.
