According to a report from Calciomercato, Manchester City are linked with surprise move for Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo.
The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from various Premier League clubs.
The Portugal international joined Juventus from Valencia for a fee in the region of 40 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
In total, he has scored one goal and supplied 8 assists from 32 Juventus matches.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Portugal.
As a member of Portugal national football team, Joao Cancelo won 14 caps and he scored 3 goals.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Manchester City.
Joao Cancelo has been long term target of Pep Guardiola as the manager look to bolster his defensive options for the next season.
His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.
According to Calciomercato, “Manchester United have already been in contact with Jorge Mendes for the Portuguese star, given his not idyllic relationship with Massimiliano Allegri and now cross-city rivals Manchester City are also ready to take advantage of the situation. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus could decide to sell the fullback, provided that an offer of at least 50-60 million euros arrives at Fabio Partaici’s door from the English clubs.”
