Manchester City keen to land RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku
There has been numerous midfielders linked with Manchester City in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Manchester City are set to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku.
The France international was signed by RB Leipzig in August 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of 13 million euros. The 23-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.
The midfielder has featured in 8 matches for Leipzig this term, netting 6 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 23-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Nkunku has represented France at Under-16, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 24 caps.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The English giants are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 23-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Pep Guardiola is a long term admirer of Nkunku and believes he can get the most out of the France international.
The Citizens are desperate to make an impact in the next summer transfer window.
The France international will offer the City boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

That is according to Fichajes, with the Spanish outlet suggesting that City were impressed with how the 23-year-old equipped himself against the Citizens in the Champions League. City and Leipzig played out a 6-3 result at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, with Nkunku scoring a hat-trick. The 23-year-old caught the eye of City boss Pep Guardiola in that game, and may be a key summer target for the Premier League champions. Nkunku signed a five-year contract with Leipzig in 2019, which means he will not be cheap. The report suggests his value is around £40 million.”

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Manchester.
