Liverpool willing to buy Inter centre-back Stefan de Vrij

The upcoming winter will see Liverpool improving their defensive department.

It’s claimed by British and Italian media that Liverpool are willing to buy Inter centre-back Stefan de Vrij.

The Netherlands international joined Inter from Lazio on a free transfer in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.

In 97 appearances for Inter, De Vrij has managed to score 6 goals, and create 6 goals for his teammates.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Netherlands.

Stefan de Vrij has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 3 goals in 38 senior appearances for the Netherlands national team.

Adding a centre-back remains Liverpool’s top priority this winter and Jürgen Klopp will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Klopp is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.

The Reds will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.
